Note: these fights and teams were from the 2024 Lara Croft event, and may not be the same as the 2025 event!
These fights (in 2024) were based on random chance; even if you have the "correct" team, you still might need to attempt the fight dozens (or hundreds) of times to get a successful outcome.
There is a good chance that Hero Wars was lazy, and for the 2025 Lara Croft event just inserted the same fights as the 2024 event. It's also possible that they're changed to be less random but more rigid (more expensive) in their buff costs.
